Watadeel Scores on Stable Debut
It was a 1600m battle between the two front-runners, but it was Watadeel & Jamie Kah who saluted in the first om Champions Day.
Winning Trainer: Annabel Neasham
"I can't take much credit for that. He came to me in great order from the Stokes team and he was ready to come up in trip.
"He's obviously had a few bad draws this campaign but he jumped well today and I was glad to see Jamie take advantage of that.
"I was quite confident watching him in the run. He looked really relaxed and she still had a lapful of horse at the 300 (metre mark). "Great ride by Jamie and hopefully she's in for a good day. "Up to the mile he was hitting the line really well. We were hopeful that the big track here would really suit him. "Von Hauke kept her honest but he won well in the end."
Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah
"That was a good starting point because I've been getting back on him from the barriers and Annabel said to be positive but to do what you want on him.
"That left us with an open book out of the gates. He's a nice horse and he's been running well but he's been getting too far back.
"It is nice when you're out there and you can make up your own mind when they jump well."
